The bill that treats golf carts, scooters and certain off-road transportation as motor vehicles subject to Ohio vehicular homicide laws has been signed by Governor Mike DeWine.
Operators of those vehicles can face criminal charges if the vehicle causes a death or serious injury.
Motorized bicycles are also included.
The bill takes effect in three months.
