Just a step outside tells you the air is unhealthy.
Because of smoke from Canadian wildfires that has drifted South, the Air Quality Index in the Youngstown-Warren area today had risen to the “hazardous” range as of 3 p.m. Thursday, according to airnow.gov.
The AQI was over 300 at that time.
The website says everyone in those “hazardous” areas should remain indoors where possible.
In the Cleveland-Akron and Toledo areas, the numbers are way off the charts “hazardous” in the 600s and 700s.
The entire state is under an Air Quality Advisory through midnight Thursday night.
