Trying to understand the macroburst event that hit Canfield, Boardman and Poland Townships over a week ago.
AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Bill Deger used to live in New Castle before moving to eastern Pennsylvania.
He says 90 mile per hour winds from a thunderstorm suddenly hit the ground and went for miles in all directions over a ten-mile long path.
Deger says microbursts are more common and occur over a smaller area.
Of course there was tornado damage as well.
