HEAT WAVE: Warning Continues

An Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect for Trumbull and Mahoning Counties until 8 p.m. on Thursday.

The National Weather Service calls for highs in the upper 90s Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with Heat Index values of up to 105.

The Trumbull County Emergency Management Agency asks that you stay hydrated and keep your pets hydrated too, keeping them in the shade or indoors.

They also ask that you check on your elderly neighbors.

Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio EMA remind us that extreme heat is responsible for more weather-related deaths than any other hazard.

They say if you’re working outdoors, seek shade when possible and take a lot of breaks.

The state EMA says 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. is the time of peak sunlight.
