The 38-year-old Canfield man accused of lunging at Democratic candidate for governor Amy Acton was arraigned on several misdemeanor charges on Tuesday including misdemeanor assault.
Patrick Havas is free on bond.
He must give up his weapons as part of the bond agreement.
The Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office says Havas went after Acton as she spoke in the county Democratic Party tent at the Canfield Fair on Sunday.
She was not injured, but others in the tent were hurt during the attack and arrest.
