Legislature Hoping to Lock In Voter ID

Republican leaders in the Ohio House and Senate want voter ID requirements locked in, placing them in the state’s constitution.

Both bodies introduced resolutions last week, hoping to place a voter ID amendment referendum on the November ballot.

The proposal first needs a three-fifths majority vote by both the House and Senate.

Voter approval would make it permanent, unless another amendment was passed later.
