Over $900,000 in state Brownfield Remediation Grant funding is coming to Trumbull County for two projects, both overseen by the county land bank.
$635,000 is for remediation of asbestos and lead paint at the former YMCA building on High Street NW.
The plan at the former Family Fitness Center is for a remodeled center, but with 43 residences and seven new townhomes.
And there’s $300,000 for cleanup of the old Van Huffel Tube, allowing Trumbull Industries to expand.
The Youngstown YMCA got a million dollars in funding.
They plan three floors of housing in the upper part of the old section of the building.
Over $60-million in grants were awarded across Ohio.
