It was a defensive battle in the first half, but the Harding Raiders got it together starting late in the third quarter to defeat the Youngstown Defenders in the home opener Friday night 20 to 12.
Kai Parker caught a pass in the end zone to start the scoring for Harding, with Makhi Brogdon using four of his 150 yards on the ground to burst across the goal line.
Antonio Dukes intercepted a Youngstown pass for a 35-yard scamper for another six points.
The Raiders are in Massillon to play Perry this coming Friday.
