It gets a little more expensive to drive the Ohio Turnpike come the first of the year: the mileage rate for passenger cars with E-Z Pass transponders goes up point-six-cents per mile to 7.1-cents… That’ll apply at the Ohio/Pennsylvania line for cars coming into the state westbound, where the E-Z Pass flat rate will increase to three dollars; it’s now $2.75… Eastbound drivers at the state line do not pay a toll, though the Pennsylvania Turnpike a few miles down the road will charge a flat fee..
No savior for Sharon Regional Medical Center, unlike at the Steward hospitals in Warren and Howland Township: with talks falling apart with Meadville Medical Center, Steward has set a closing date of January 6 for the longtime Sharon hospital facility.
