Lights on Larchmont to Flash, Then Go Away

Starting Wednesday, a $1.5-million traffic light update by the Trumbull Engineer’s Office in cooperation with ODOT includes changes at three intersections along Larchmont Avenue NE.

The two traffic signals on Larchmont Avenue NE at the bypass and a third one at the 717 Credit Union will be going on flash.

As part of the larger 2027-2028 project, those lights will be removed.

A few other traffic lights are being removed and six in the county are being replaced with new devices.

Here’s more from the Trumbull Engineer’s Office:

Existing signals will be replaced with new signals at the following six (6) intersections: 

1. Warren-Sharon Road and Bedford Road SE 

2. N River Road and N Park Ave 

3. N River Road and Larchmont Ave NE 

4. Salt Springs Road and Niles Carver Road 

5. Salt Springs Road and W Liberty Street 

6. Salt Springs Road and Ohio Machinery Boulevard (Petro Travel Center drive entrance)

Existing unwarranted signals will be removed and will become 4-way stop controlled at the following six (6) intersections: 

1. Warren-Sharon Road and Yankee Run Road/Brookfield Ave

2. Larchmont Ave NE and the eastbound State Route 5 entrance/exit ramp 3. Larchmont Ave NE and the westbound State Route 5 entrance/exit ramp 4. Larchmont Ave NE and the 7 17 Credit Union drive entrance

5. N River Road NE and the Aptiv parking lot drive entrance

6. Salt Springs Road and the Petro Travel Center truck lot drive entrance
