Taking a Spring Break trip?… You can feel safe in a hotel or motel in Ohio: they are inspected annually by the Code Enforcement Bureau of the State Fire Marshal’s Office… But what if Spring Break takes you to a Bed and Breakfast, Inn or other rental?…. They do not inspect those, but Head of Code Enforcement Alan Smith says the local code, building or fire department likely has requirements… Most newer hotels need fire suppression systems and smoke and fire doors; the older roadside motels from the 1950s require just a smoke detector and fire extinguisher.
