Governor Mike DeWine met with poultry farmers in Darke County at the western end of the state last week; that area has been particularly hard-hit with bird flu… 15 and a half million chickens and other birds have had to be killed because of the HPAI outbreak…… DeWine is asking for more federal funding to further research on the influenza; there are also concerns that more humans will contract the virus.
