The Winter storm Thanksgiving Day through last Tuesday in the primary snow belt dropped over five feet of snow in some spots, causing major roads to close and roofs on buildings like Lakeside High School in Ashtabula to collapse… The big snow total “winners” were Girard Pennsylvania near the state line at 63.8 inches, and Saybrook Township near Ashtabula at 63.2 inches.
A big weekend for families to head out to a farm and chop down a fresh Christmas tree… And these days, it’s more than just dropping money in a box…. Many tree farms make it fun, with Santa there, hot chocolate and more… The Ohio Department of Agriculture has a name for activities like that “down on the farm”: “agritourism”.
Three women with out-of-state addresses were arrested last week following a year-long investigation into prostitution by the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, indicted on corruption and other charges… The state AG’s office says the women ran illicit massage parlors in Beaver and Springfield Townships in Mahoning County.
